Dear Harrison,

My name is Munachisom Israel and I am 13 years. I am in grade 9 and I am a Nigerian. I saw the 2017 animated movie “The Son of Bigfoot” in which you starred, about a year ago. In fact, I have since watched the movie twice. The reason is not only because it is interesting and funny but it contains valuable life lessons as well. Thank you for your wonderful portrayal of heroism in that movie.

The reason I am writing this letter is to express my admiration for you particularly, for your role in “The Son of Bigfoot”. Firstly, I admire you for the virtue of patience which you often showed whenever you encountered the bullies in your school. I remember in some of the bullying scenes of the movie which involved you, you never resorted to violence to deal with your bullies. Instead, you advised your bullies to take up proper behaviour while emphasizing that “they were better than this”. I wish young people in the world are able to learn this virtue of patience in dealing with school and societal problems. I also would have advised you to report your bullies to your teachers as that should help but that would no longer be necessary, as you now have help from your wildlife buddies.

Another reason I admire you is because you are extremely brave for a child. While, I do not know your age, I assume you were about the age of thirteen which is my own age but I know in my heart that I do not have such boldness. I was truly inspired by how you saved your father which I know was a result of your bravery and love for him, even in the face of danger. I however wish the world was filled with more kind-hearted and selfless people that will not force children to risk their lives to make changes happen.

Finally, I admire you because of the extraordinary things that you did in the movie that most people cannot do. Even though I know, you have special gifts and powers as a result of your genes, I am influenced to make use of my God-given gifts and strengths for my own good and the good of others. I really like your sudden bursts of speed, ability to sense danger, self-healing power and the ability to talk to animals. One of my strengths is the use of persuasion to influence people around me but I am still in the self-discovering process and will still know more about my special abilities as I grow older.

Let me conclude my letter by stating that even though you are animated, you still are a hero and there is so much to learn from you in the movie. I hope people especially children get to see beyond the comedy in the movie and emulate your heroic traits. It was nice knowing you through the movie and I hope another sequel of you as an older teen will be produced. All the best, Harrison.

Yours sincerely,

Israel
